IMPORTANT DATES AND DEADLINES FOR 2009 ISGH ELECTIONS:

1. October 4, 2009 (1st Sunday)	Election Commission sends the Nomination forms & Information Package to all eligible voting members on or before this date.
2. October 25, 2009 (4th Sunday)	Last date for receiving nomination papers by noon. Nomination Form MUST accompany the signed Acceptance Form by the nominee(s) for each position, and reach Election Commission in the Main Center Office (3110 Eastside, Houston, Texas 77098) by 12:00 Noon on this date. Please make additional copies of Acceptance Form for each position, as needed.
3. November 8, 2009 (2nd Sunday)	Election Commission announces all nominations received on or by this date.
4. November 15, 2009 (3rd Sunday)	Last date for nominees’ withdrawal. Withdrawal can be on a plain paper duly signed by the nominee and received by the Election Commission at the Main Center Office by 12:00 Noon on this date.
	Final list of Nominees for posting on bulletin board.
5. November 16, 2009	Last date for submitting a short resume of the candidates for the Majlis Al-Shura (BOD) positions. Theese resumes will be posted on the ISGH website.
6. November 22, 2009	Orientation Session for ALL nominees for ALL positions. At Main Center from 10:OO AM to 1:00 PM. This is intended to familiarize nominees with ISGH Constitution & Bylaws and to review duties and responsibilities of all ISGH officials.
7. November 29, 2009 (Last Sunday)**	AbsenteeRarly balloting at the Main Center from 11:OO AM to 3:00 PM
8. December 6, 2009 (1st Sunday)	Election in the Main Center from 9 AM- 4 PM.
9. December 13, 2009 (2nd Sunday)	Holding of Run Off Elections (if needed) at the Main Center for at-large positions. At Zonal Centers for other positions.
10. January 3, 2009 (1st Sunday)	Oath-taking Ceremony at Main Center at 1:00 PM (after Zuhr).

** Note: May need re-scheduling subject to Eid ul Adha celebration. The EC may decide to hold additional AbsenteeRarly balloting sessions based on estimates of number of potential voters and other factors.
