BULLETIN 29: DISQUALIFICATION OF CANDIDATES
The Election Commission has received numerous requests for disqualification of multiple candidates based on a variety of complaints. The complaints include civil lawsuits against the candidates, charges of fraud, and other unsavory practices, statements made on the social media, and ultimately alleged lies and sins. The Election Commission has considered these complaints and has formed the following opinion.
The Election Commission is guided by the dictates of the ISGH Constitution Bylaws, which in itself is based on Quran and Sunnah. The declared purpose of ISGH, as enunciated in the Constitution is Aqamat e Deen. The Election Commission has not awarded itself the additional authority of acting as a Qadi or as a Mufti in the matters of Islamic Sharia by weighing the actions of individuals against Sharia, and declaring them as lies or sins. We have left this judgement between Allah Almighty and the individual. At our level of authority, when a Muslim declares that he/she abides by the ISGH Constitutions Bylaws, including the qualifications for the candidacy, we accept this declaration without reservations.
As far as civil litigation matters or social media evidence is concerned, that has to be deliberated in the community and decided by the voting population.
